The ‘GM Central Library’ in GM Institute of Technology, Davanagere, was inaugurated by Honourable central Home Minister – Shri Amit Shah. The event was held with the noble presence of the Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri. Basavaraja Bommai.GMIT library is a resource center for teaching, learning and research. Being the heart of the academic center, it is home for all the information services. As per the need of student strength, an exclusive central library with more sophisticated facilities. The building is 1744.5 sq. feet spaciously built in a wide area of 48,400 sq. feet of space and has an estimated cost of 9 crores. The building has 4 floors. The building has all the modern amenities such as an exclusive library, journals section, bibliography, e-library, researcher’s library, audio & video section and conference rooms. The library also has an intensive Digital library consisting of around 1800 CDs/DVDs and other learning resources in electronic form like e-journals, audio/videos, and e-books. There are separate sections for Management and Engineering. It has other facilities such as SC/ST Book Bank facility.
